
📅 May 17–18, 2025 | 📍 New Jersey — The Reading Glass Books (RGB) proudly participated in the Power in the Pines Air Show, one of the premier military and family-friendly events on the East Coast, held at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.
The two-day event drew a diverse audience of families, service members, aviation enthusiasts, and community members, providing a dynamic setting where storytelling and celebration intersected.
Throughout the weekend, attendees of all ages visited the RGB booth, engaging with book displays, printed materials, and new releases. Many guests expressed enthusiasm for specific titles, reflecting the wide range of emotional and thematic connections that books continue to inspire.
Over 50 book titles were showcased during the event, spanning multiple genres including children’s literature, fiction, and nonfiction. The curated selection highlighted the breadth of voices represented by The Reading Glass Books and appealed to readers with varied interests.

A key highlight of RGB’s participation was the launch of three emerging authors’ books, which drew strong interest from attendees. “Athena the Brave” by Nina M. Kelly, “Quiet. Fear.” by Cynthia Giachino, and “The Color of Pain” by Melisa A. Arnold captivated visitors with fresh narratives and compelling themes.
In addition to book launches, several authors stopped by the booth to see their featured titles on display and connect with readers. These included John Kennedy, author of “12 Simple Words”; John Forlenza-Bailey, author of “The Road to Wellness Workbook”; Lorraine Cuff, author of “Defining Your Greatness”; Marlene Essence Dotts, author of “Coming Out of the Woods”; and Cynthia Gwynn, author of “Sleeping With a Frenemy.”

The Power in the Pines Air Show proved to be a vibrant and engaging platform for showcasing books alongside a large-scale community celebration. The event offered meaningful exposure for both new and seasoned authors while introducing literature to audiences beyond traditional book venues.
